For the junior tutorial term papers, students post their proposals online and then receive feedback from their peers. Each student is asked to post constructive criticism of six or seven of their peers' proposals. These comments are available for everyone in the class to see, so students can learn from their own projects and the other students' projects. The instructor ensures that every student receives feedback.
After the comments are posted, the instructor chooses a few of the criticisms to discuss in class so that students also evaluate the quality of feedback.
The proposals are written a third of the way into the semester, and they receive feedback from their peers soon after. Throughout the remainder of the semester, the students and instructor check to make sure they have regarded the feedback and made appropriate changes.
