    About SafeArchive

SafeArchive is a solution for archival storage and replication management. Designed by the Data-PASS partners, it is a storage platform for policy-driven, distributed replication of digital holdings. The current version of SafeArchive is a self-contained system that can be installed, used and maintained by institutional staff without technical expertise. The set of open source tools can easily be used by libraries, museums and archives that wish to replicate their own content.

SafeArchive allows collaborating institutions to monitor peer-to-...

    How it works

The SafeArchive system was designed to provide a simple tool for distributed replication and policy compliance. It coordinates six primary activities:

    1. Documents the agreed-upon replication policies or rules of institutions participation in a network.
    2. Makes each participating institution's digital holdings available through the web or network system.
    3. Harvests and replicates the collections from their original source using OAI-PMH protocol.
    4. Monitors and maintains the...

    • Ensures replicated collection are geographically and institutionally distributed.
    • Enables institutions in peer-to-peer networks to monitor replication.
    • Reduces threats to digital storage and replication.
    • Produces an auditing trail to support standards such as Data Seal of Approval,...

Lecture Notes for Quantitative Social Science Methods, I

These are the slides I used for lecture in spring 2019. When I lecture, I go through as much material as possible at each lecture, subject to the constraint that everyone follows what I'm doing. The speed at which I go is therefore dependent on the composition of each year's class and the questions that arise. As such, the slides below are not broken up into distinct weeks (I seem to go through roughly 15-20 pages in a weekly session lasting almost 2 hours, but issues and topics not represented here are covered most weeks).

Separate PDF versions of the slides...
