Old English Vowels Exercise

The exercise below will help you learn the vowels of Old English. In the player below, click & hold on the yellow slips showing an Old English vowel and its phonemic value and drag them to their proper places in the mouth diagram at right (clicking again where you want them to go). When you are done, click Check at the bottom. If your answers are incorrect, click Retry and try again. For this exercise if [y] appears, it represents the umlauted front vowel as in cyning.
