Presenter at 100 Years of Markov Chains

Ryan P. Adams joined the SEAS faculty in July 2011, following a two-year stint as a CIFAR Junior Research Fellow at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on machine learning and computational statistics, but he is broadly interested in questions related to artificial intelligence, computational neuroscience, machine vision, and Bayesian nonparametrics. He leads the HIPS (Harvard Intelligent Probabilistic Systems) group, dedicated to building intelligent algorithms. Adams earned his PhD in physics at the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and completed his undergraduate studies in electrical engineering and computer science at MIT.
