Jessica Fei

Jessica explores themes of place, identity, and narrative as they relate to the life and learning experiences of adolescents. Her recent work has focused on the neighborhood narratives of students in an international online learning community, Project Zero's Out of Eden Learn. Through her internship on the New Civics, she is studying ways to support storytelling and dialogue in online contexts, and designing online curriculum that engages young people in critical reflection and creative thought through the theme of place. Jessica's interests also include out-of-school time enrichment programs, arts-based research, and youth participatory action research. Prior to entering HGSE, Jessica taught writing and literature, directed a multi-year college readiness program, and developed arts-based leadership programs for public schools in New York City. She received her B.A. in Literature and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration from Yale University, where she also earned her certification to teach Secondary English.
