At the Evolutionary Psychology Lab, we apply the adaptationist toolkit to the study of the human mind.  Led by Principal Investigator Max Krasnow, a major focus of the lab explores questions addressing the evolutionary origins and cognitive design of the mechanisms underlying human cooperation and social behavior.  Why are we so trusting of strangers?  Why do we try so hard to be nice?  Why do we care when others act poorly?  What explains when cooperative ventures fail?
