I am running for the position of HESA President because I want to continue making changes for Extension School students. I have been really fortunate to spend this past year helping to improve the student experience as HESA’s Vice President, but I know the work is far from done. As Extension Students we are a unique group with unique needs, but my goal is to make sure your Extension School experience is an unforgettable one. I want to continue finding ways to build our community.
This year we held our inaugural Global Social, where students from all over the world were able to meet online, we threw a highly successful Masquerade Ball that united all Harvard Schools (the largest HESA run event in history), multiple info sessions, retreats, gatherings, and new clubs were formed. This is just the beginning. Next year I want to create an online forum for students all over the world, a job fair, acquiring a location for Extension Students who are local, info sessions for students who are new to campus, and info sessions for new students studying abroad.
Whether you are on campus or taking classes anywhere around the world, I want to make sure ALL students are welcomed and given every opportunity to be informed and to be a part of the community. These connections, no matter how far away, may be the most important ones you make. I am extremely passionate about the Extension School and the experience my fellow scholars have during their time here. I have learned so much this year and want to share my knowledge. If you are passionate about your school and making it the best experience for yourself and others, join me in making this year the beginning of unforgettable years to come. We are One Harvard.
