HDRB Concentration Requirements

In order to declare HDRB as your concentration, you must first meet with Dr. Amie Holmes, the concentration advisor.  Sign up for an appointment here.

Foundational courses
2 half courses

LS 1a (or LPS A) and LS 1b

Intermediate biology
2 half courses

SCRB 10

AND

SCRB 50 or MCB 60

Upper level biology
3 half courses

3 courses: any 100-level SCRB along with certain advanced courses in molecular and cellular biology (MCB), organismic and evolutionary biology (OEB) and human evolutionary biology (HEB)

Chemistry
1 half course General
and
2 half courses Organic

General chemistry:  PHYSCI 1, 11, or equivalent

Organic chemistry:  CHEM 17 and 27 or CHEM 20 and 30

Quantiative Science
1 half course

MATH 1b, 19a, 21a, or STAT 100, 102, 104, 110, 115 or PSYC 1900, or equivalent

Physics
1 half course 

PHYSCI 2, 12a, or PHYSICS 15a or 16, or APPHY 50a or equivalent

Independent Research
1 half course

SCRB 91r or SCRB 99

HONORS
Thesis

Completion of a senior thesis (SCRB 99a and SCRB 99b) is required to be eligible for honors
