U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Challenges

The first EPA challenge will develop a predictive model (algorithm) based on the best available science to forecast the location of Cyano bloom events up to 30-days in advance of previously available satellite observation. The model will be based on the best and most appropriate scientific information available to predict the growth and movement of Cyano blooms.

The second challenge will develop an algorithm based on data provided by the EPA to help predict a chemical’s “systemic lowest effect level” from a traditional animal toxicity study.
