Welcome, class of 2028!

Congratulations on your acceptance into Harvard!  Over the next few months, you will be making many decisions about how you will start your college career here in Cambridge.  FAP is one of the six pre-orientation programs that you may select to arrive on campus early and start getting to know your new campus home.

FAP is proudly entering it’s 30th year, and is celebrating in a grand fashion.  We will no longer be a competitive program, so that we will accept anyone interested, and for the first time, we will be tuition free!

FAP is centered around 5 major pillars:

  • Build an Inclusive Community
  • Acclimate students to life at Harvard
  • Showcase artmaking opportunities at Harvard
  • Encourage exploration of identity and personal narrative through art
  • Engage the alumni artist community.

To find out more, please feel free to reach out to FAP Director Dana Knox, peruse our website, or check out our Instagram at @harvard_fap.

Community:

  • Our 24 Upperclass Proctors have been working hard to create an active social calendar that encourages First-Years to get to know each other, many campus student arts leaders, as well as a large number of arts faculty and staff.
  • Arts Related Social Activities:  Getting to know each other through creative events such as the Jam Session, Movie Night, Art Museum tours and more.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Spotlight Series: Each day, you will be able to engage in keynote dialogues, panel discussions, and other activities centered on art making and artists.
  • Workshops: You will have many opportunities to take classes that focus on specialty hands-on art making taught by faculty, staff, and alumni (Each FAPper will choose 10 of the 50 offered).

Getting to know Harvard:

  • Involvement Opportunities: how to get engaged with curricular and extracurricular art making opportunities on campus
  • Tours of Arts Facilities and Venues
  • Meet and interact with Harvard based Faculty, Staff, and Upperclass Artists.
