Apps add new functionality to your site. Enabling an app might give you a new type of content, a new site section, new widgets and more.
Some apps are enabled by default on every OpenScholar site. Common default settings for academic institutions are Publications, Classes, and Bio/CV.
Many apps also have a variety of settings which you may want to explore. Further documentation is available for each app into the Apps section.
- To enable an App, go to the administrative toolbar. Hover over Build and click on Apps.
- To make an App public, click on the drop-down bar next to the App of your choice and select Public.
- Save. You will now be able to use any of the Apps made public, and they will appear in your Content menu.
*You can also disable an App by selecting Disabled in the drop-down menu in the Apps page. Or you can choose for an App to be Private and that allows you to continue using the App privately and anyone without an OpenScholar account to your site will not be able to view it.
