August Muench

August Muench is an Astrophysicist at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory of the Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, MA working on many aspects of the Virtual Observatory: data publishing, citation practices in astronomy, supporting researcher's use and reuse of astronomy's extensive digital archives, computational training for scientists, managing community user groups. Prior to joining the CfA, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Spitzer Science Center in Pasadena and a Project Manager for Microsoft Research's WorldWide Telescope at Harvard's Initiative for Innovative Computing. He holds degrees in Physics and Astronomy from Georgia Tech and the University of Florida.
