2013-2014 Academic Year Overview

Convening for its second year, the SCR Mahindra Humanities Center Seminar Series will kick off the Science, Religion, and Culture Program’s events calendar in early fall and host five guest lecturers between October and April. Then, October 25-26, the second annual “Ways of Knowing” Graduate Conference on Religion will welcome some 100 panelists to present their research related to two thematic modules: “Constructions of Autonomy in Early Modern and Modern contexts,” and “Ritual as a Category of Religious Experience.” Throughout the academic year, SRC’s Forum will organize workshops, seminars, and colloquia relating to the program’s critical research areas: Ethics in Science and Religion; Health and Religion in the Global Context; Science, Religion, and Sexuality; Urbanism, Spirituality & Well-Being; and evolution and religion.
