Emily Phillips Galloway

Emily Phillips Galloway is a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Previously, Emily completed her undergraduate degree in health policy and her Master’s in education at the University of Pennsylvania. Before beginning her doctoral studies, Emily was a Michael Pressley Memorial Fellow at the Benchmark School in Media, PA where she taught adolescent struggling readers in grades 6, 7 and 8. While at Benchmark under the direction of Dr. Irene Gaskins, Emily conducted research in the area of academic language development and on the impact of learner differences on adolescent reading development. Currently, as Emily researches the development of productive and receptive school-relevant language skills in populations of adolescents as a member of the Language for Learning Research Group.
