Welcome to the UCSD CCES page! Some of the research topics motivating our survey included: predictors of turnout and vote choice, importance is partisanship and influence of political advertising on candidate evaluation and choice-in particular, do different tones of advertising differentially persuade voters? The primary theory was to test if negative advertising truly is the most persuasive form of political advertising. Individuals were randomized to receive a positive, contrast, or negative advertisement from each candidate.
