Enhancing capability
through convergent research

Convene

Faculty, researchers, clinicians, and technologists to create a world leading program for human performance enhancement.

Educate

Students with diverse interests and instill a culture of collaboration, entrepreneurship, and inclusion.

Translate

To commercial ventures so research in science and engineering can have a real human impact.

Advances in human performance enhancement have the potential to protect physical abilities against injury, extend them beyond the limits of advancing age, and restore them to people who have lost them. They could enable a future where all people can fully interact with their environment for health, for social connection, and for access to opportunities.

Getting these innovations off the ground can be difficult. Researchers need support from teams that reflect a thorough understanding of a user’s psychology as much as their physiology, and testing basic hypotheses requires safe and reliable systems developed with a level of design and engineering effort out of reach to most academic endeavors.

The Harvard Move Lab provides focused support. We build tightly integrated teams of entrepreneurially minded researchers, clinicians, technologists, designers, and users. We support these teams with space, funding, R&D infrastructure, and the experience necessary to turn promising research into mature technology.
