"I can’t think of a time when he wasn’t in my consciousness as what a musician was," composer and conductor Jonathan Sheffer explains in this March 14, 2006 interview with the Bernstein's Boston seminar as he discusses Leonard Bernstein's impact on his life.  Sheffer, who met Bernstein at Harvard when Bernstein was on campus for the Norton Lectures, is the founder of Eos Orchestra and Red {an orchestra}.  He has conducted several programs of Bernstein works, including a reconstruction of The Birds.  In this interview, he talks about his work with this production and other Bernstein works and also shares his memories of Bernstein inside and outside of the classroom
