Candidates for BIG must have completed a Bachelor's degree with a major in a quantitative science or a substantial minor in engineering or physical science.

We recommend that you prepare for BIG with at least one undergraduate subject in each of the following areas:

Application Requirements

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE General Test) scores. The GRE should be taken no later than October. Specific subject tests are not required.

  • Three letters of recommendation.

  • Official transcripts from all of your academic institutions.

  • The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for applicants whose native language is not English and who have not received a bachelor's degree from an English-language institution.
