BEFORE DAY 1 OF THE WOKSHOP, PLEASE:
A. brainstorm the following questions:
- Why have you come here today?
- What are your individual goals for the workshop?
- What are your biggest challenges to your current biography or life writing project?
Note: You do not need to formally write anything down, just jot down notes/ responses to these three questions
B. Publicist Key Words
1. Think about 6-8 key words about academic or trade publishing, marketing, audience, editors, or anyhting else realated to getting your biography into the world. Please email these key works in list form to farmer.ad@gmail.com before the story of the workshop.
C. Creative Supplies
During this workshop we will not only engaging in activities that ask us to think creatively about the main characters of our biography and the worlds they navigated. We ask you to gather and have the following on hand before the worskhop:
- paper or posterboard
- markers, pens, and/or colored pencils
- scissors
- old newspapers, publications, and/or magazines that can be cut up
