Elise Mahaffey was the lab manager for CoCoDev from 2019-2022 and is now a PhD student at Arizona State University working with Dr. Kelsey Lucca. Her research explores social learning interactions between adults and children, including how children interpret nuances from their social environment to determine when it is optimal to take on challenging tasks. Through her research, she aims to better understand under what conditions adult caregivers can best support children's learning, persistence, and challenge-seeking behavior.
