Important Dates

  • May 14, 2018: release of data;
  • August 27, 2018: deadline for submissions;
  • September 20, 2018: challenge day at CDMRI'18.

To obtain the data, a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) between the team participating in the Challenge and Cardiff University must be signed.

Applications to obtain the data are open, and instructions on how to download the images will be sent via email once the DSA has been signed and approved by Cardiff University. There will be a delay for processing DSA's during the week of ISMRM from 06/18-06/22.

Key points about the DSA:

  • The DSA can be dowloaded here.
  • The DSA must be signed by the Principal Investigator leading the team and by all team members. Please fill out the fields [NAME] and [ADDRESS].
  • No modifications will be made to the DSA.
  • Signed DSAs can be sent to
  • Cardiff warrants that the data we provide were acquired ethically. However, we have no knowledge of what research is permitted ethically at others’ institutions. The DSA includes a clause to highlight that the receiving researchers’ use of the data may require local ethical approval, which is outside the scope of Cardiff’s knowledge. Regarding “providing Cardiff with evidence…”, in most cases a statement such as “no additional local ethical approval was required for this project” would be sufficient.

For any question, please do not to hesitate to contact the organisers directly.

Information on how to submit the predicted diffusion-weighted images as NIFTI files will be sent to the teams who have signed the DTA. Teams are free to contact the organisers for any clarification.
