database for Russian archives, provides an abbreviated listing
of:

1. The current sixteen federal archives administered by the Federal
Archival Service of Russia, which form the network of what in
most countries would be considered the national archives.

2. Archives of major federal agencies that have the right by law
to the long-term retention of their own records, including those
of a more technical and specialized profile.

3. Local, municipal and oblast archives in Moscow and St Petersburg.

 

Annals of Communism, Yale University Press
Annals of Communism presents selected documents concerning the
history of Soviet and international communism from Russian state
and party archives. Virtually all the material contained in these
archives has never before been available to Western or even Russian
scholars.

The Russian Archives Online site contains Russian archival collections 
of photographs and films, audio, clips and transcripts from the
