The principle investigators are Melissa Bartick, MD, MS, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts; Lori Feldman-Winter, MD, MPH, Professor of Pediatrics at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey; and Verónica Valdés, MD, retired Auxiliary Associate Professor of Family Medicine of the School of Medicine, Catholic University of Chile in Santiago. The researchers are also collaborating with Angela Giusti, PhD, IBCLC and public health researcher from the Italian National Institute of Health in Rome and Elise Chapin, M.Ed., IBCLC, a researcher from the Italian National Committee for UNICEF and coordinator of the Baby-Friendly Hospital&Community Initiative in Italy. In the US, the study is working with Lucia Jenkins, RN, IBCLC to partner with BabyCafé USA, a non-profit organization which offers over 150 free breastfeeding support groups around the United States. Maite Hernandez Aguilar, MD, MPH,PhD is the coordinator of the Breastfeeding Clinical Unit at Universitary Hospital Dr Peset in Valencia, Spain. She is the International Relations Coordinator of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) in Spain. Elysangela Dittz Duarte, RN, PhD is a Professor at the School of Nursing, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Nikhil Bhana is a medical student at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey and John Gaughan is a biostatistician at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University.
