As Harvard's research center for U.S. History and Culture, the Warren Center's mission is to advance research and teaching in the broad range of American historical inquiry, and to serve as a nexus for the community of Americanists at Harvard and in the Boston area.

The coming year's 2020-21 theme is “Religion and Public Life in North America, 16th Century to the Present,” led by Catherine BrekusDavid Holland, and James Kloppenberg. Our “people” pages will soon be updated with information on the new faculty fellows on religion and public life, our new postdoctoral fellows, as well as LaTosha Brown, the coming year’s American Democracy Fellow. In the coming months we will add information on the 2021-22 faculty fellowship on “Slavery and the Universities” to be led by Sven Beckert and Evelynn Hammonds, and the application for the next cohort, 2021-22, of our postdoctoral fellowship.

Finally, we thank Walter Johnson for his two terms of service as Director and welcome Tiya Miles as the new Director. Stay tuned as we continue to augment our website!
