Jovonna Jones is a doctoral student in African & African American Studies with a primary field in the History of Art & Architecture, and a secondary field in the Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. Her research interests include black cultural history & theory, African American & African Diaspora art history, political aesthetics, and the history of photography. Her current work explores social photography and the racialization of place in the 20th century, with an emphasis on visual culture related to housing inequality and the politics of home for Black Americans.
