About the Harvard Election Data Archive

This archive contains data on election results, voting behavior, and electoral politics, with particular focus on the United States.   The core data for the archive are state, county and district level election returns for all recent state and federal elections in the United States.

To receive e-mail updates about the status of the archive and new data releases, e-mail your name and institutional affiliation to heda@gov.harvard.edu.

The Harvard Election Data Archive is sponsored by the Sloan Foundation, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, and the Institute for Quantitative Social Science.

Thank you to our colleagues Michael McDonald, Nathaniel Persily, and David Bradlee for their help with data collection.
