The Environmental History Working Group at Harvard University convenes once or twice a month during the academic year to discuss the many ways in which humans have shared their history with non-human entities and forces. Our mission is to:
- Foster dialogue among environmental scholars in the Boston area in a friendly setting
- Discuss and help to shape participants' work-in-progress, and thus work to improve the larger field
- Engage in cross-disciplinary conversations regarding methodological and theoretical approaches to the study of environmental history
We welcome participants studying all regions and time periods at any stage of their career and from any relevant branch of history or allied fields.
