I am interested in puzzles related to the evolution and maintenance of human cooperation. For example: Why do we punish on the behalf of others?  Why do we sometimes feel punitive toward those who have not (yet) transgressed?  Why do we typically ignore efficacy information when choosing where to make our charitable donations?  For solutions, I look toward evolutionary biology, evolutionary game theory, evolutionary models, and behavioral economics.  I am currently a fourth year in the department, jointly advised by Max Krasnow and Steven Pinker.
