What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a tech-focused design and innovation sprint event where individuals and teams work on new projects in a short period of time.

Who is eligible to apply to the F(o)und Fellowship?

All winning hackathon projects through Devpost are eligible to apply to the F(o)und Fellowship. Hackers must currently be pursuing a high school diploma or degree at a higher education institution in order to be eligible.

Who is eligible to apply to the F(o)und Fund?

All winning hackathon projects through Devpost are eligible to apply to the F(o)und Fund. Hackers must currently be pursuing a high school diploma, degree at a higher education instutition, or be a working professional in their industry in order to be eligible.

Will you take equity in my project or ownership over our IP?

We will not take any equity in your project or ownership over your intellectual property. When you join our programs, you will receive the funding you need while retaining full control of your team, you techinical vision and business strategy, and the resulting intellectual property. We will take no equity under any circumstances.

What does the application look like?

The application process begins with all applicants filling out a form. Only one team member from each project should fill out the form. This form will ask you for your basic contact information, team details, project details, and a few short questions so we can get to know you better. Our team will review your application, and invite you to an interview if we want to move forward with your application. Teams who pass the initial interview will be inducted into the program to which they applied.

Can I apply to both the F(o)und Fund and F(o)und Fellowship?

Yes! However, you will only be eligible to join one of the programs if you qualify for both (we'll pick for you).

How can I apply?

Applications for Cohort 0 of the F(o)und Fellowship and rolling applications for the F(o)und Fund will both open on November 15th, 2020 at 8:00 am PT. A link to apply will appear on our website once applications open.
