Harvard University’s Graduate Music Forum is a two-day event intended to foster the exchange and discussion of ideas amongst graduate students on a wide variety of musical genres and cultures, using diverse methodologies and interdisciplinary perspectives. The conference is open to the public.

This year’s conference will feature a keynote address by Professor Lester Hu (UC Berkeley), entitled “Why the Chinese Hated Harmony, 1754-1781: Towards a Comparative Musicology from the Margins.” Roundtable speakers for our conference will include Lester Hu, Kate van Orden, Virginia Danielson, and Alexander Rehding.
