Applications

Thank you for your interest in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program.  This year we will again be participating in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). You will need to contact your medical school Dean’s Office to access the MyERAS web-based application.  Your application should be accompanied by your curriculum vitae, medical school transcripts, four letters of reference, a personal statement and the Dean’s Letter from your medical school.  If you are currently in a residency program in any discipline or have an obligation to a residency program, please indicate this and explain why you have decided to change your position.

Please also include a personal statement with your application. Tell us why you have chosen radiation oncology as your specialty.  The selection committee is most interested in what special qualities and experiences you have and what you hope to do with your radiation oncology training.  The personal statement helps us to know you, and we read it with great care. Explain any interruptions in your education.

Your completed application will be thoroughly reviewed by the Program Director and the HROP Selection Committee.  Interviews will be by invitation sent via e-mail.  There are three interview sessions held in December and January.  The interview consists of one full day and involves meetings with various faculty and residents at the Longwood Medical Area (LMA) and at MGH. We will try our best to make the interviews as friendly, open, and relaxed as possible. In addition, we recognize the pressure that applicants feel between their interviews and the day they submit their rank lists. Along with the other major Radiation Oncology programs, we are working to eliminate post-interview communication with applicants in order to allow you to make a comfortable and unpressured decision.
