Reframe the Future: How Technology is Changing the Design Process - Design Museum Mornings with Richard Kuhn of Perkins+Will

Date:

Friday, July 14, 2017, 8:30am to 10:00am

Location:

Perkins+Will, 225 Franklin Street, Suite 1100, Boston, MA 02110

How can the design process flourish with new technology? July’s Design Museum Mornings presentation will showcase how you can utilize Big Data, Computational Design, and Conveyance to not only shape the outcome of a project, but the design process itself!

The use of Big Data assists and guides the analytic process and Computational Design utilizes computer language to amplify the design process by encoding the designer’s creative actions. This allows for quicker step-by-step evaluation and optimization of the design process. The presentation will also showcase how Conveyance, the use of virtual reality and augmented reality, is helping to communicate and evaluate design. It sounds futuristic, but it’s the way designers on the cutting edge are shaping the structures of tomorrow!
