Dionne is an impassioned educator with a commitment to fostering equitable and inclusive educational environments. Her passion for creating inclusive spaces for students of color led her to embrace the challenge of joining Teach for America, where she worked as a teacher for the past three years at a Title I school in North Carolina. As a teacher, she prioritized relationships, which translated into the tangible result of closing academic gaps. Dionne’s dedication to educational equity extended beyond the classroom walls, as she made a positive impact across North Carolina. As an Aspiring Leaders Intern, she shared her vision for a more inclusive and diverse education system with key stakeholders, including the Superintendent and executive staff of CMS. As a Leroy Pop Miller Fellow, she equipped Teach for America corps members with the tools and insights needed to create inclusive classroom environments and created a high school leadership curriculum for first generation students in Charlotte, NC. Currently pursuing an Ed.M in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship, Dionne aspires to learn how to create and maintain inclusive spaces that foster belonging for marginalized groups.
