Marvin Baclig is a Master’s student in the Higher Education Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In addition to being an Equity and Inclusion Fellow, Marvin is also currently a Graduate Assistant for Student Programs in Harvard College’s Dean of Students Office, where he advises student leaders on the Harvard College Events Board to coordinate inclusive programming for their fellow undergraduate classmates. Marvin grew up as a Filipino-American immigrant, low-income, first-generation student in the under-resourced community of South Sacramento, California. He attended the University of California, Berkeley— receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health and Double Minoring in Public Policy and Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies. Previously serving as a student leader and community organizer in UC Berkeley’s bridges Recruitment and Retention Centers in addition to being a college adviser at the largest high school in Oakland, Marvin is very passionate about educational access and equity.
