Evan Chavez grew up in Church Rock, New Mexico. He studied Art History, concentrating on Contemporary Native American Art, with a minor in German at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M., and completed his Masters of Art in Educational Studies at the University of Michigan. He has over six years of teaching experience in the classroom and with community organizations serving rural populations in Northwest New Mexico. His professional practice cherishes the craft of teaching in the era of online learning through a succinct alignment of education technology and culturally relevant curriculum design to improve learning outcomes for Navajo students. Evan is passionate about education and its potential to restore opportunities for Indigenous communities and is currently an M.Ed candidate for Education Policy and Analysis at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
