Rocío is pursuing a masters degree in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her roots come from México and Nicaragua. Rocío’s purpose in life is to inspire. Her work involves using self-empowerment tools and techniques to motivate womxn, and advance racial equity through grassroots mobilization. She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Sociology in 2010. She is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of I AM Empowerment LLC, a transformational leadership organization. Rocío came to Harvard to take her to the next level with two initiatives. By the end of 2021 she will be launching Fiera LLC, a fierce organization centered on girls and womxn of color. To impact the lives of womxn of color through confidence building, uplifting their voices, and finding their inner power, to be bold and to be fierce. In 2022 she plans on launching The Monarch Center, a social purpose organization, centered on undocumented youth. To create an empowering space for undocumented immigrant youth providing educational and mental health services and resources that create equitable opportunities for them. As an undocumented entrepreneur, student, and community activist, Rocío strives to help other undocumented individuals set themselves up for success.
