We are actively seeking medical professionals from all specialties who are interested in joining HSHRC's team of evaluators.
I'm already part of the PHR Asylum Network. How do I join?
If you are already part of the PHR Asylum Network, you can affiliate with HSHRC by filling out the form after clicking here. Affilating with the clinic lets you pair up with a medical student during evaluations, who will help you research a client's country of origin, scribe, and draft the affidavit. In addition, we can connect you with experienced evaluator mentors who are also affiliated with our clinic.
What if I'm not part of the PHR Asylum Network?
If you are interested in conducting evaluations for asylum seekers, you will need to attend a PHR Asylum Network Training event to join the asylum network. Once you attend a training event you may affiliate with HSHRC, but you are also free to conduct asylum evaluations on your own. HSHRC will periodically hold PHR-run training events (please see the "Events" section for details). If you are interested in attending a HSHRC-held training event, please fill out the form after clicking here.
Alternatively, you can check on the PHR website (by clicking here) to see whether they have training events available.
What is the time commitment?
The time commitment for an evaluator is very flexible and can vary from one or two evaluations per year, to multiple evaluations per month, depending on the evaluator's preference and availability. Evaluations can be conducted at any time of the day, usually on weekdays.
