The STGA initiative has approved seven research projects for 2024

The Social Technology for Global Aging and Eldercare in China (STGA) initiative has concluded its 2024 research project solicitation process. The Broader Steering Committee approved seven research projects, including Long-term care policy, Assistive Technology, Hip Fracture Care, Aging-friendly environments, Palliative Care training, and Aging in Place. The approval of these initiatives underscores the STGA initiative's commitment to developing interdisciplinary research that addresses the challenges of limited social communication access for the aging population.

STGA Initiative Hosts Seminar Before Winter Break

In a recent seminar led by Prof. Kleinman, the STGA project delved into the conceptual depths of Social Technology. Drew Cheng presented a comprehensive literature review, while Wang Yuan explored the AI's responses in Social Technology. Profs. Habbal, Walsh, Krakauer, Chen and Jing shared insights on integrating social science and Chinese culture into their research projects. The seminar fostered collaboration and enriched discussions on the evolving landscape of Social Technology.

STGA Hosted an All-Member Reception on Oct.18th

On October 18, 2023, the STGA project hosted an All-Member reception. At the event, Professor Kleinman briefly introduced the origin of the STGA project and the proposal review procedure for the faculty applicants this academic year. He also announced that STGA will open the Student Affiliate role to Harvard students.

From September 18th to 20th, Dr. Luo Benjin, the vice director of Jiangsu Industry Technology Research Institute, a Chinese partner institute of Harvard STGA, visited Professors Kleinman, Habbal, Forsyth and Krakauer at Harvard campus in Cambridge and introduced their current works in China.
