Innovation Center for Social Technology and Aging is the partner institute of both Harvard Social Technology for Global Aging and Eldercare in China Initiative and Jiangsu Industry Technology Research Instit. It advocates the integration of technology and society, and pays attention to both material and social life, to create a equal, respect and caring society for the elderly.

About

The Social & Technology Innovation Center for Aging of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI), also called Jiangsu Jicui Technology for Aging Research Institute Co. Ltd., is a research institute dedicated to fostering innovation and development of the aging industry.  

December 8th of last year, Jicui Aging is launched in Lishui, Nanjing city of Jiangsu Province in the east of China as the 57th specialized institute of JITRI. The mission of the center is to study global best practices and work together with international partners to address the common challenge of aging society. 

Jitri Aging is a research platform driven by user demand other than technology. Our ultimate objective is to become a most dynamic innovation center integrating society and technology, hoping to incubate technologies for social welfare, which we believe an ecosystem of integration of multi-industries with multi-disciplines need to be fostered. Only in this way, we may explore a most humanistic system solution to an aging society. 

Jitri Aging includes a platform company and incubated start-up portfolio. The platform company includes Research department, Industry department and Development department. Our research work is closely related to best practices. Secificly, we try to seek and study the best practices related to product, service, technology and model from all over the world through so-called aging experience center, then display and demonstrate these best practices in a real-world scenario (such as nursing home, community nursing center). Based on the feedback from users, we will modify or promote the practice. In the end, we can provide references for making the related policy or setting up the criterions. To promote practices, we will also provide some training courses, to train the professional caregivers, managers of nursing home, and etc. 

Considering our background and available resources, Jitri Aging currently focus on the R&D of mental health, rehabilitation assistance devices, and active exercise health.

Standard + Demonstration - Looking for Demonstration for the Development of the Elderly-friendly Industry

The innovation center will also start with standard research and policy research, with criterion as the guide, technology as the means, data as the basis, and best practice as the demonstration, to build the data collection, analysis, application and development of aging industries, products and services. The demonstration platform provides guidance for the growing industry suitable for the elderly, and achives the informatization, intelligence, aging and humanization of aging industries, products and services in this emerging industry and high-quality development.
