Gopal Barik is a Disaster Management Professional and UN Volunteer, Currently overseeing the research work at International Socioeconomis Laboratory (ISL) as a Principal Investigator. He is an alumnus of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and holds a Masters degree in Disaster Management.

He has been associated with ISL since Spring 2021. He has joined ISL with a vision to contribute, collaborate and conduct research studies on common but highly challenging issues of the world. Previously as Principal Investigator he had worked with three studies including the study " Public Perception on Climate Change in India and USA'' and currently he is associated with Vaccine Allocation studies. Prior to this, he has previously worked with the United Nations Development Programme, India on COVID-19 and Post Disaster Response projects.

He has also done extensive work on Crisis and Emergency management in India. His research interests include Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainability.
