Melissa is a bilingual Senior Case Manager at Safe Horizon. In her position, Melissa assists victims of domestic violence to seek an order of protection and helps them navigate the criminal justice system. Melissa was a Principle Investigator for International Socioeconomics Laboratory on the following projects: "The Impact of Colorism on Social Mobility," "Societal Beauty Standards," and "Will Students after the pandemic want a system of education to be a hybrid of remote learning and in person learning?" Melissa is passionate about working with the community, especially working on behalf of vulnerable populations. She is involved in the National Immigrant Women's Advocacy Project: Community of Practice for Victim Advocates. Melissa received a BA in Criminology and English from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
