Born and raised in Kashmir, Tanveer Ahmad Khan is currently a doctoral candidate at the Department of Sociology, Aligarh Muslim University, India. His areas of expertise include Sociology of Work and Occupation, Sociology of Children, Sociology of Exclusion and Inclusion, Sociology of Conflict, Gender and Society, and Contemporary Social Issues of Kashmiri Society. His research has appeared at places like Palgrave Macmillan (in production), Routledge, Sage, and Oxford University Press. Methodologically he finds himself engaged with qualitative research. His thesis was on “Social Exclusion of Traditional Occupational Groups in Kashmir: A Case Study of District Ganderbal.” He has qualified UGC NET/JRF-NOV-2017 in Sociology which availed him five years scholarship from University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, India. Currently, the author is framing his post doctoral proposal and is looking for post doctoral fellowship for studying abroad. Other than this, he is working as Principal Investigator at International Socioeconomic Laboratory.
