Harvard's Islam in Africa Speaker Series is chaired by Professor Ousmane Kane and sponsored by the Center for African Studies and Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Studies Program and Harvard Divinity School  Founded in fall 2016,  it aims to trace the rich historical legacy of Islamic culture in Africa.  The Series has highlighted the work of emerging and established scholars alike, bringing to campus specialists of diaspora, ethnography, and history of Muslim Africa.   The talks are free and open to the public, and we encourage you to consult our listing of upcoming events for details of future lectures.
