Eisenhower and Adenauer: Alliance Maintenance under Pressure, 1953–1960

The tenth book, Eisenhower and Adenauer: Alliance Maintenance under Pressure, 1953-1960 by Steven J. Brady, gives a comprehensive account of U.S. relations with the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) in the 1950s and 1960s, explaining why West Germany’s historic reconciliation with France did not detract from the strong, close relationship that emerged between the United States and the FRG.  Brady draws extensively on U.S. and German archives to reassess what ultimately became the most important U.S. relationship with a NATO ally.
