Scarlett moved to southern California at 14 and enjoyed the weather so much to stay there until she got away with a B.S. in Physics at UCLA. During undergraduate she worked in the group of Wes Campbell in a basement, where she experimented a way to coherently transfer as many ℏk of momentum to cold atoms, which could be used to slow molecules. Excited to work with real cold molecules, she now works on the CaF experiment in a basement.

Scarlett is an avid back cracker both inside and outside of the lab. She also enjoys films from different cinema movements, constantly relishes the food of the Greater Bay Area, and aspires to beat Annika Lunstad in arm wrestling.
