Visit the Constitutional Revision Research Project
Founded in 2005, the Constitutional Revision Research Project highlights a variety of voices involved in debates and initiatives to revise the postwar constitution. In the project's early years, web archiving of relevant born-digital materials was a major focus. In addition, academic workshops enabled researchers from Asian countries, Europe, and the U.S. to analyze and discuss the issues involved in constitutional revision, especially those connected with concepts of national and ethnic identity, women's social participation, the emperor and imperial succession, national defense, and issues of religion and state.
Operated by the Japan Digital Resource Center, the project's digital site was rebuilt and launched in 2023 and offers insights into a spectrum of views held by 126 organizations and individuals connected to constitutional revision, as well as the 36 drafts they have created. All drafts can be explored on their own or through side-by-side comparison, as well as through an interactive page that places them in direct conversation with the official constitution.
日本における憲法改正に関する研究プロジェクトは2005年、当時の改憲をめぐる議論を中心に広く日本の立憲主義を考察するために立ち上げられました。年間を通してミーティングを行い、国家的、民族的なアイデンティティ、女性の社会参画、皇位継承、国防、宗教と国家等のコンセプトから憲法改正にまつわる様々な問題を取り上げます。
憲法改正に関する幅広いデジタル情報を保存することは、このプロジェクトの継続的な焦点となっています。現在の憲法改正に関する個人および団体活動の情報は主に電子媒体であるため、約８０の関連するウェブサイトが収集されており、研究者に公開されています。
Visit the Japan Disasters Digital Archive
Launched in July of 2012, the Japan Disaster Archive (JDA) is an advanced search engine for materials from around the globe, including individuals' testimonials, tweets, and content from international partners who are building their own repositories about Japan's disasters. Through the archive, the project aims to provide a public space of information exchange, establish innovative means of organization, access, and integration of materials, and to contribute to teaching, research, and policy analysis both near term and in the future. But most of all, JDA hopes that the archive will serve as a site of shared memories and reflection for those most affected by these events and concerned about their consequences.
The site not only facilitates searching of materials, but actively encourages user submissions of resources such as websites, videos, photographs, and user testimonials about personal experiences. The innovative map allows the visualization of all materials that are tagged with geographic information in real time. And with the added ability to create curated collections and interactive presentations, the user can both share and exchange information with an ever-expanding network. Thus, the archive is an interactive space that promotes, and indeed thrives on, user participation.
2012年7月に開設された日本災害DIGITALアーカイブ(JDA)は、個人の体験談やツイート、さらに日本災害のデータベースを作っている世界中のパートナーによって収集された資料を収集することを目的に作られた高度なアーカイブです。アーカイブが災害の影響を受けた人々の自らの経験を共有する場となることを第一の目的に、さらにはアーカイブを通して情報交換の場を提供すること、新しい情報管理の方法を探求すること、さらには新たな教育・研究方法を構築することを目標としています。
このサイトは資料を検索するだけでなく、ユーザーによるウェブサイト、ビデオ、写真、証言や体験談の投稿を推進しています。画期的な地図機能もあり、位置情報付きの資料をリアル・タイムで表示することができます。コレクションの作成やプレゼンテーション機能が加わり、拡大し続けるJDAのネットワークにユーザーが情報を共有し交換することができます。また、このアーカイブは、ユーザー参加型のインタラクティブな場となっています。
