Cam Comrie

I’m Cam, a third year medical student at HMS currently interested in surgical oncology. I am thrilled to join the board of the John Warren Surgical Society! I grew up In Georgia and studied molecular biology and government at Harvard. In college, I worked with a reproductive rights NGO in Kenya and served on the board of an organization dedicated to expanding access to care for indigenous communities in Bolivia, which inspired me to pursue a career that includes global surgery. My current research interests include value-based care and patient-physician communication. Beyond this, I am passionate about reducing barriers to medical education for underrepresented students and those from low resource backgrounds. As part of JWSS, I hope to foster a community of students interested in surgery as well as help facilitate discussions about diversity in the surgical field.
