Liran Samuni

Dr. Samuni received her Masters in Zoology from the Tel-Aviv University in 2013, and her Ph.D. in Biology from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVA) and the Leipzig University in 2018. Her main research focus on underlying mechanisms of cooperation and intergroup relations in chimpanzees. Before moving to Harvard, she was a Post-doctoral researcher at the MPI-EVA. She serves as the long-term data manager at the Taï Chimpanzee Project, Ivory Coast. Dr. Samuni joined the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University in October 2019. Her current research in the Pan lab focuses on within and between-group social relationships and cooperative exchange in the two Pan species.
