Cong Shi obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in microelectronics from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2007 and 2009 respectively, and PhD degree in Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2014. He was engaged in designing high-speed intellectual vision systems on chip and computer algorithms during 2009-2014 at the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. In 2015, he joined Gang's Lab at Schepens Eye Research Institute, Mass. Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School as a postdoc.
(1) Bio-inspired motion perception and analysis algorithms, with parallel hardware implementation.
(2) Algorithms and embedded systems aiding biological experiments, such as mouse vision testing.
Skills/areas of expertise: VLSI/FPGA design, image processing and computer vision algorithms.
Interests: Bio-inspired vision processing algorithms and hardware architecture, embedded medical systems for visually impaired.
