Mechnikov Hospital is one of the largest medical institutions in Ukraine, founded in 1798 and situated in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, which borders the Donbas region. Annually, the hospital sees over 40,000 hospitalized patients, over 17,000 surgical interventions and over 300,000 outpatient clinic visits. The hospital employs close to 2,200 people, including 400 physicians and 750 junior medical specialists. In the past five years, Mechnikov Hospital’s doctors have saved the lives of over 2,500 Ukrainian soldiers and have adapted their daily routine to treat victims of conflict. Mechnikov Hospital is the region’s leading tertiary care and trauma facility.
